The Excavator Always Emits Black Smoke When It Starts. Do You Know What Happened?

Oct 28, 2022

When your excavator is working, it always emits black smoke, and you can imagine your mood. So, what's wrong with the black smoke from the excavator?

The excavator is emitting black smoke all the time. The cause is:

If the excavator always emits black smoke and the fuel consumption increases, the failure causes are:

1. The air filter of the excavator is blocked, the engine air intake is low, the fuel enters the combustion chamber incompletely, and black smoke is emitted.

2. The engine valve clearance is too small, the air intake is insufficient, and the air intake system is faulty.

3 The fuel supply of the diesel pump is too large, the atomization of the fuel nozzle is poor, and the fuel nozzle drips, causing black smoke.

4 The cylinder pressure of the excavator is insufficient and the combustion is not good, causing black smoke.

5. The engine supercharger air inlet leaks oil, and the engine oil enters the supercharger. When the temperature is high, the waste gas makes the engine oil black, and the excavator emits black smoke.

6. If the black smoke is accompanied by the excavator holding up, it is caused by the excavator hydraulic system failure (too high pressure).

7. For engines with intercooling, the radiator is blocked by dust for a long time and cannot absorb air, resulting in black smoke.

8. Too much engine load or pressure and too much carbon deposit in the cylinder may cause the excavator engine to emit black smoke.

Although the black smoke phenomenon of the excavator is very difficult, in the final analysis, these are the causes of the fault. When checking and handling, we must observe the fault phenomenon comprehensively to make the most accurate judgment.
