Kobelco SK250-8 Excavator Rotation Performance Measurement

Jul 16, 2020

Speed of rotation

Measurement purpose: To measure the rotation time of Kobelco excavator to determine the performance between the hydraulic pump and the rotary motor of the rotary transmission system.

Measurement conditions: The temperature of the hydraulic oil is 45~55℃, the excavator is parked on a flat, level and solid ground, and the engine is idling at high speed.

Prepare to empty the bucket, the arm cylinder is fully retracted (maximum working radius) or the arm cylinder is fully extended (minimum working radius).

Measurement: During measurement, pull the rotary control lever to the end (full stroke) and rotate the machine, measure the time required for two rotations (excluding the first rotation), and calculate the time required for one rotation.

The rotation speed measurement position is shown in Figure 2-20. The rotation speed is shown in Table 2-7.

2. Rotary braking performance

Purpose of measurement: The performance of the braking torque is determined by rotating the safety valve.

Measurement conditions: The temperature of the hydraulic oil is 45~55℃. During the measurement, the excavator should be parked on a flat, level and solid ground, and the engine should be idling at high speed.

Preparation for measurement:

① When the bucket is empty, the arm cylinder is contracted to the maximum and the bucket is used for excavation, keep the bottom of the bucket and the tip of the bucket tooth on the same horizontal plane, and maintain a height of 1.5m with the ground.

② Mark the outer circumference of the rotating bearing on the upper body side and the track frame side, and stand two marking rods at the front and rear ends of the marked extension line.

measuring:

① When operating at normal rotation speed, the control lever is moved to the neutral position at the position of the marking lever, then the machine stops rotating at this time.

②When the upper rotating body stops, use the deviation of the mark made on the rotating ring gear and the circumferential length on the rotating ring gear to calculate the rotation offset angle by the following formula.

Figure 2-21 shows the measurement position of the rotation braking performance and the measurement position on the rotating ring gear. The values of the rotation braking performance are shown in Table 2-8.

3. Rotary parking brake performance

Purpose of measurement: To determine the mechanical performance of the rotary parking brake installed inside the rotary motor.

Measurement conditions: During the measurement, the excavator should be parked on a slope with a slope of 1/5 (approximately 12°), and the machine should be parked at a right angle to the slope at a height of 1.5m. The bottom of the bucket should be level with the end of the bucket teeth to clear the excavation. Bucket and jib cylinders are recovered to the maximum and are ready for digging.

Preparation for measurement: Place the angle measurement on the track shoe and ensure that the angle is above 12°, as shown in Figure 2-22, mark the outer ring gear and the inner ring gear.

Measurement: 5 minutes after the engine is stopped, measure the moving distance at the mark.

The performance of the rotary parking brake shall comply with the values shown in Table 2-9.

4. Fuel consumption rate of rotating motor

Purpose of measurement: To measure the fuel consumption rate of the rotary motor and determine its performance.

Measurement conditions: The temperature of the hydraulic oil is 45~55℃, and the engine should be idling at high speed.

ready:

① The engine stops.

②Relieve the pressure inside the hydraulic system.

③Remove the connection of the rotary motor oil delivery hose back into the hydraulic oil tank, and input the oil into the container.

④ Put a plug in the fuel tank.

Measurement: at the position of the rotating brake pin.

①Start the engine and lean the side of the bucket against the inside of the left or right track shoe.

②Make the rotary motor rotate at full stroke.

③ As shown in Figure 2-23, place a container to receive the oil discharged from the rotating motor at full speed for 30s. The oil discharge volume should meet the standards shown in Table 2-10.
