1. Preparation before dismantling

(1) Release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank of Kobelco excavator.

(2) Remove six cap screws M10×20.

(3) Remove the shield.

(4) Take out the suction filter assembly.

(5) As shown in Figure 4-71, install the suction plug.

(6) Remove the protective device.

①As shown in Figure 4-72, remove the two front and rear protective cap combinations and protective devices, panel combinations, inner panel protective devices and brackets.

②Remove all the parts that hinder the removal of the hydraulic pump.

③Remove the bleed hose located under the muffler.

2. Demolition

(1) As shown in Figure 4-73, loosen the clamps and fixing screws on the hose, and disconnect the two hoses for transportation.

    (2) Remove the suction pipe.

① Remove 4 fixing bolts.

② Remove the elbow of the suction pipe from the pump.

③ Remove the suction pipe.

(3) Remove other hoses

① Remove the hose from the port shown in Figure 4-74.

2

② Put a label on the hose for distinction.

③ Insert a plug in the hose and pump.

(4) Remove the connector

As shown in Figure 4-75, remove all pressure sensors and the six connectors of the matching valve.

3

(5) Remove the main pump.

①As shown in Figure 4-76, put a steel wire sling on the hydraulic pump and tighten it slightly, loosen the 11 fixing bolts.

4

② Slowly take out the power take-off assembly from the frame of the speed-regulating wheel, and adjust the tension of the wire rope. At this time, the combination is taken out and the gasket remains on the side of the speed-regulating wheel.

③ Remove the attachment from the top of the spline shaft.

④ Loosen the four fixing bolts of the fastening pad and remove them.

⑤ Remove the axle.

After unscrewing the two fixing bolts, the wheel shaft comes off from the spline shaft of the pump.

⑥Remove the 8 bolts that fasten the gasket and the speed wheel on the engine side, then remove the gasket and spring pin on the axle.

⑦The bracket is an accessory of the pump.

3. Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal.

(1) Install the axle. Put the axle into the spline of the pump until it reaches a depth of 5mm from the end face of the spline. Then, install two fixing bolts coated with Loctite #262 and tighten.

(2) Install the spring pin. Install the spring pin into the axle.

(3) Install the gasket. Use bolts coated with Loctite glue #262 to install the liner on the axle.

(4) Installation of the pump. Lift the pump together with the bracket and install the connector into the groove of the component for installing the gasket.

(5) Use Loctite glue #262 to smear 11 fixing bolts and 1 cap screw and install them in place.

(6) Fasten the two hoses on the discharge side with the clamps and cap screws (M10×35).

(7) Install the suction hose with 4 cap screws (M12×30).

(8) Install hydraulic piping system.

(9) Install the hose.

(10) Install the pressure sensor and mating valve connector.

(11) Remove the suction plug.

(12) Install suction filter.

 (13) Release the gas in the pump. As shown in Figure 4-77, release the vent Dr to deflate.

5

 (14) Check the hydraulic oil level.

 (15) Start the engine and check its oil leakage and noise.

 (16) Connect the drain pipe at the lower end of the engine muffler.

 (17) Install protective devices.
