Diesel Forklift Engine Overhaul Method And Maintenance Disassembly Steps

May 06, 2020

In the maintenance process of diesel forklifts, the engine is a very important component of the internal combustion forklift and bears the power source for the operation of the entire forklift; electric forklifts rely on the motor as power. Of course, mechanical operation will inevitably bring wear and tear, so maintenance is also a frequent thing.

How to disassemble and wash the engine

1. First remove the engine from the forklift, the engine must be completely cooled, otherwise it will cause deformation of some parts.

1. Water is discharged from the engine cooling system, and engine oil and hydraulic oil are discharged from the engine and hydraulic transmission.

2. Remove the safety shed and seat, remove the radiator cap, and detach the exhaust pipe muffler.

3. Remove the foot pedal, remove the radiator, exhaust pipe and its attachments.

4. Dismantle the connecting parts of the engine and hydraulic drive and other systems (hose, conduit, etc.).

5. Disassemble the connection between the engine and the main drive (universal joint, etc.).

6. Hang the engine on the lifting equipment and unscrew the plug bolt connected to the frame.

7. Lift the engine with lifting equipment and place the engine on the bench.

 Check for wear

1. First look at the color and quality of the engine oil, whether there are iron filings on the surface, and see the viscosity of the engine oil. For example, there is a lot of iron filings in the engine oil, which means that the crank pad or connecting rod pad should be ground, or even the crankshaft is worn. If the machine is very thick, it means that the engine oil has not been changed for a long time.

2. When disassembling the crankshaft of the connecting rod piston, observe the conditions of the connecting rod bush and the crank bush. If the entire connecting rod is found to be ground, the entire connecting rod can no longer be used. If the crankshaft is not seriously worn, it can be processed after grinding the shaft. .

3. Observe the wear of the cylinder liner. Take care not to hit the engine body when the cylinder liner is disassembled to prevent damage.

So far, this is the main step of engine maintenance. Although it seems simple, it also requires long-term experience to repair an engine. Any small details of the error will cause the engine to not run normally, so maintenance of the engine, of course, requires experienced personnel to operate, and must not blindly start.
