1. Electric energy required by electrical equipment on battery engineering machinery

Is generally provided by the generator and battery. The two positive poles are connected, and the negative pole is grounded. When the generator is working normally, the generator mainly supplies power to the electrical equipment. The main functions of the battery on the construction machinery are:


1) When the engine starts, supply power to the starter and the ignition system. Provide a powerful current of 200-600A for the starter within 5-10s.


2) When the generator does not work or the output voltage is too low, power is supplied to the electrical equipment.


3) When the generator is overloaded for a short time, it can assist the generator to supply power to the electrical equipment.


4) When the storage capacity of the battery is insufficient, the electrical energy of the generator can be converted into chemical energy for storage (charging).


5) It has the function of stabilizing the grid voltage, protecting the electrical components in the circuit from being damaged.


2. Overhaul of charging failure


1. Diagnose whether charging


1) Start the engine and gradually increase the speed, the combination meter voltage meter reading changes from 13V to 14.5V (24V system is 27V ~ 28.8V), the charging is good, otherwise, the charging is faulty; if the combination meter is broken, a multimeter can be used The method of measuring the battery charging voltage.


2) If the combination meter is broken and there is no multimeter on site, you can use a local method: start the engine at medium speed, turn on the light of the excavator, and then remove the negative line of the battery. Otherwise, the charging is faulty.


2. Diagnose the faulty electrical appliance


There is a fault in charging. In addition to checking whether the battery, belt, and line are short-circuited, the most common fault is a problem with the voltage regulator or generator. To diagnose any problem with the voltage regulator or generator, a simple method can be used: remove Connect the magnetic field terminal (F) line on the voltage regulator, and connect the (F) line with the voltage regulator (+) pole, start the engine and gradually increase the speed, but the speed should not be too high to avoid excessive voltage. If it can generate electricity, the fault is in the voltage regulator; if it cannot generate electricity, it indicates that the fault is in the generator itself.
