What Should I Do If The Excavator Slows Down Suddenly?

Mar 02, 2023

Reasons for speed drop of excavator:
1. It is caused by the diesel oil circuit fault of the excavator. Generally, when the diesel oil circuit is blocked, it may cause the speed drop.
Solution: First, check whether the diesel used by the excavator is deteriorated, whether the oil has impurities, and whether the oil circuit is blocked.
2. The hydraulic system of the excavator has a fault, which makes the hydraulic pump unable to change the displacement normally. The pressure is too high and the speed drops. At the same time, the machine may be blocked.
3. The output power of the excavator engine is lower than the rated power, the output power is insufficient, and the speed is too low. Secondly, there is a problem with the main pump.
Solution: check the valve clearance of the excavator engine and the speed of the engine.
4. When air leakage or blockage in the intake system causes insufficient air supply to the engine, resulting in insufficient fuel combustion, speed drop and black smoke will occur.
Solution: check the intake pipe, clean the air pre-filter and air filter element.
5. Due to the large clearance of the solenoid valve, the fuel supply is insufficient, which causes the engine to slow down.
6. There are many reasons for the speed failure, such as incorrect valve clearance, incorrect injection timing, damaged turbocharger, defective brake, etc. In addition, it is also necessary to check the electric control, hydraulic system, fuel system, etc.
Some ideas provided in this article are aimed at the conventional methods to solve this problem, and I hope to help you. Finally, remind all operators that in case of speed failure of excavator, in order to ensure the normal use of excavator, users need to notify professional after-sales service engineers in time for troubleshooting and repair.
