What Is The Reason For The White Smoke From The Excavator?

Nov 22, 2022

The temperature in summer is soaring like a roller coaster, followed by such thorny troubles as high water temperature, black smoke, white smoke, and car holding of the excavator, which also brings great trouble to the construction in summer. In addition, summer is an important season for rush work, and the loss caused by downtime is what most owners do not want to face. Today, Master Li of the Shengang excavator maintenance service center analyzes the reason for the white smoke.

1. White smoke caused by insufficient cylinder pressure. The engine emits white smoke when it is just started, and turns into black smoke when the temperature rises, which indicates that the cylinder pressure is insufficient. The cylinder liner is cracked or the cylinder gasket is damaged. As the temperature and pressure of the cooling water increase, the cooling water enters the cylinder. It is easy to form water mist or vapor when exhausting.

2. White smoke caused by water ingress due to damaged cylinder head and cylinder gasket. Put your hand close to the exhaust pipe. When the white smoke sweeps over your hand and there are water drops, it means that there is water in the cylinder. At this time, the engine is generally weak. When a cylinder does not work, the fuel injection nozzle of this cylinder will still inject fuel. The fuel mixture in this cylinder may become fuel vapor after the compression temperature increases, resulting in white smoke during exhaust. In this case, the white smoke is often accompanied by the reduction of engine power and power.

3. If the engine continues to emit white smoke after starting and the phenomenon is serious, you can check whether the oil is reduced. If the oil is not reduced and the excavator is unable to operate, it can be determined that the engine cylinder mattress is faulty and whether there are foreign matters can be checked and repaired

4. The occurrence of white smoke may be due to the wear of the cylinder gasket of the engine cylinder, resulting in a certain gap, which causes a large amount of water in the cooling system to enter the combustion chamber.

When digging the excavator at ordinary times, pay attention to observe the cylinder and engine of the excavator to judge and analyze whether faults may occur, find problems as early as possible, and find professional maintenance personnel to avoid greater losses.
