When the engine is started, open the drain cover of the heat pipe radiator to see if the coolant is quiet. If it is quiet, it means that the thermostat is normal; on the contrary, it means that the thermostat is not working.
Note: At this time, the temperature of the water temperature meter should be carried out under the standard that the main gate valve of the thermostat is closed, otherwise it will endanger the whole process of distinguishing the thermostat.
2. The other part waits for your engine temperature to rise, and the thermostat main gate valve is opened to the standard before carrying out the inspection.
At this time, we must be concerned about the change of the water temperature meter. If the temperature reaches the standard of opening the main gate valve of the thermostat
If the temperature increase rate of the coolant slows down, it means that everything is normal during the work of the thermostat; if the temperature increase rate of the coolant has been rapid, causing the coolant to boil and suddenly overflow, it means that the main gate valve of the thermostat cannot be normal Open, at this time, the thermostat must be disassembled or repaired.
Two installation methods of excavator thermostat:
1. Excavator thermostat is generally installed at the drain outlet above the engine.
Advantage:
①Conducive to maintenance.
②It is easy to exhaust gas when disassembling and replacing the coolant, which prevents the gas from corroding the water pump.
Disadvantages:
The engine is very prone to thermostat fluctuations during the warm-up period.
This causes the engine temperature to fluctuate more frequently, which promotes the intermittent fuel atomization of the engine, which in turn increases the fuel consumption, which will accelerate the damage of the engine in the long run, leading to the destruction of the engine characteristics.
2. Another installation method of the excavator thermostat is to install it at the inlet of the water pump.
Advantage:
This is the junction of the hot water pipes, which is a particularly temperature sensitive area. The thermostat has a small adjustment range for water flow at this part, and the adjustment precision is high. It is not easy to cause the temperature of the engine cylinder body to be very large. The horizontal ups and downs ensure that the engine can run smoothly.
Disadvantages:
When disassembling and replacing the coolant, it is not easy to discharge gas, and it is very easy to cause the gas to corrode the water pump.
Note: When the thermostat installed at the water inlet of the water pump is damaged, be sure to immediately dismantle and replace the new thermostat. Do not remove the thermostat.
If the thermostat is removed immediately, it is very easy to cause the engine to overheat (that is, to "cook the pot"), and then cause damage to the engine, or even damage.
hint:
If the thermostat is arbitrarily removed, the engine will not be able to achieve a suitable working temperature in winter and high temperature in summer. Therefore, it is not necessary to remove the thermostat* to prevent unnecessary damage.
