1. Causes of cracks
Reasons for cracks on the side plate of the excavator boom: there are bubbles, slag inclusions and small cracks in the original weld. 2. Repair method
Preparation before welding: clean the oil stain, paint, rust, etc. at the original weld crack with hand grinding wheel, cut the weld crack with an air planer to the body of the side plate, and remove the hardened area of the base metal previously welded. After cutting, grind the notch with an angle grinding wheel (V-shaped groove is polished at the inner interface), clean it, and after pink inspection, the excavator repair shop confirms that all the cracks have been found and removed.
