Check The Status Of The Kato Excavator APC100 System

Jul 07, 2020

Check the status of the Kato excavator APCI00 system. Before opening the APC100 system, you must make sure that the accelerator brake is properly installed. Otherwise, the engine speed and the accelerator rotation speed are inconsistent, or the accelerator brake motor may overspeed or burn out.

(1) Check the position of all switches and knobs

①Starter switch: "OFF" position as shown in Figure 223.

②Accelerator knob: The position of "low idle speed (turtle icon)" is shown in Figure 224.

1

③ APC switch: Automatic (AUTO) position is shown in Figure 2-25.

④ Accelerator standby switch: "AUTO" position is shown in Figure 2-26.

2

(2) Check the wires and connectors of the accelerator brake

Check the wires connected to all accelerator brakes and check whether they work properly

(3) Check the operation of the accelerator brake at low idle speed

When the starter switch is turned to the "ON" position and the engine cannot start but the APC100 system power supply is normal, check whether the accelerator brake is moving at low idle speed and whether it stays in the low idle position for about 2s. If the temperature of the hydraulic oil is lower than 30℃, the automatic heating function will start, and the engine speed will stop at 1400r/min. If you press the fast accelerator switch on the right joystick, you can cancel the automatic heating function.

(4) Check the manual operation of the accelerator brake

Turn the accelerator backup switch to the manual position and check the manual operation of the accelerator brake, as shown in Figure 2-27

①Turn the manual accelerator switch to the "UP (rabbit icon)" position and check after 3s whether the fuel injection pump regulator lever touches the high idle stopper and drive the accelerator brake motor to stop. Then, as the accelerator brake motor stops, the spring on the accelerator cable is relaxed, and check whether the spring has a margin and is not fully compressed.

② As shown in Figure 2-28, turn the manual accelerator switch to the "DOWN (turtle icon)" position, after about 3s, check whether the pulley turns to the low idle direction and drive the accelerator brake motor to stop. Then, as the motor stops, the spring on the cable at the stop end of the engine relaxes, and check whether the spring has a margin and is not fully compressed.

When the accelerator switch is turned to "DOWN (turtle icon)", the accelerator brake will drive the motor to stop, and the engine will not be started at this time. In this case, turn the manual accelerator switch to the "UP (rabbit icon)" position, and then start.
