Analysis Of Common Causes Of Low Oil Pressure in The Drawshoe Of Caterpillar CAT340 Excavator

Jul 11, 2022

Generally speaking, the low oil pressure of excavator may cause the slip phenomenon of Caterpillar cat340 excavator, and the slip is generally caused by the low oil pressure of Caterpillar cat340 excavator, but it is not all, and the specific problems need to be analyzed specifically.

Cause analysis:

1. The pressure limiting valve spring of the excavator is too soft or broken.

2. The viscosity of crankcase oil of Caterpillar excavator is low or the oil is insufficient.

3. The excavator oil pump works poorly and the oil circuit leaks seriously.

4. The oil filter bypass valve spring of Caterpillar excavator is too soft and broken.

5. The connection of lubricating oil inlet pipe of excavator is loose or the oil pipe is broken.

6. The cylinder liner of the excavator is damaged, and the cooling water leaks into the crankcase, so that the lubricating oil deteriorates and the viscosity decreases.

7. The diaphragm of the fuel pump of Caterpillar excavator is broken, and the fuel leaks into the diluted engine oil of the crankcase.

8. The excavator oil strainer is blocked.

9. The fitting clearance of crankshaft main bearing, connecting rod bearing and cam bearing of Caterpillar excavator is too large and leaks

10. The oil filter of the excavator is blocked, so that the opening pressure of the bypass valve is too high or stuck, and the oil cannot enter the main oil passage.

Troubleshooting:

First pull out the oil dipstick and check the oil level in the crankcase If the oil is not deficient, check the oil gauge and sensor; If the engine oil is seriously insufficient and abnormal noises can be heard from the crankshaft bearing and connecting rod bearing, the engine oil should be replenished in time Check the oil sensor Turn on the ignition switch, remove its wire, make the end contact with the cylinder block, and check the pointer of the oil gauge. If it can quickly rise to the "end", it indicates that the oil gauge is in good condition, and the fault lies in the sensor; If the needle does not move or does not rise much, it indicates that the oil gauge is invalid or the wire is poorly grounded If the oil is enough, check the pressure switch If the oil pressure is lower than 30KPa, the alarm indicator does not flash, indicating that the low-voltage switch contact is ablated or poor contact If it is lower than 180kpa, the alarm indicator does not flash, indicating that the contact of the high-voltage switch cannot be disconnected When the engine is running, the oil pressure suddenly decreases. Stop the engine in time and check for oil leakage, such as damaged oil filter gasket, broken oil pipe, etc Remove the sensor (or pressure switch) and start the engine briefly. If the oil spray is weak, check the oil filter, filter collector and oil pump.
