5 Maintenance Methods For Excavator Walking System!

Apr 24, 2020

If the excavator is likened to a person, then the walking parts of the excavator are equivalent to human legs. Therefore, the walking parts of the excavator are very important original parts, which require our careful maintenance to ensure its good work.

1. Check and adjust the front wheel positioning

The front wheel of the excavator is too large and the front beam is very small, which is easy to cause partial wear during walking. The main reason is that the front axle bearing and bushing are deformed by impact, or the front axle telescopic sleeve fastening device is loose. The front wheel positioning angle will be changed, which will cause abnormal wear. Therefore, during the application process, you must always check whether the front wheel positioning angle is appropriate, and adjust the toe.

2. Accurate control and careful driving

When excavator is walking, it should be careful not to cross obstacles at high speed, and not to turn sharply under heavy load; drive at low speed on high and uneven roads, try to avoid emergency braking; try to climb on a heavy load or on muddy roads At this time, the walking system cannot be severely slipped.

3. Pay attention to working conditions

When operating the excavator in low-lying areas, try to avoid trapping. After the trapping, you must use traction and promotion methods to eliminate it.Do not use the method of increasing the throttle (black smoke) to make the walking system idle.

4. Timely cleaning and cleaning

After the excavator operation is completed, the contaminated sludge on the wheels and tracks must be removed (cleaned) in time to keep the walking system clean, especially the oil seal device on the end surface of the roller must be cleaned, inspected and maintained in time. Be careful not to let oil, acid, alkali and other corrosive substances stain the rubber tires.

5. Maintain normal track tension

Before applying the excavator, you should carefully check whether the track tension is consistent? If the track is too loose or too tight, it is easy to cause accelerated wear of the track shoe, track shaft and wheels, so you must maintain a proper tension.
