Excavating machinery is a kind of general-purpose or special-purpose machinery equipment whose main purpose is to excavate earthwork and stonework. It is the most widely used important construction machinery in national economic construction. Used in mining, water conservancy and hydropower construction, industrial and civil construction, transportation engineering, oil field construction, port construction, farmland soil improvement, forestry engineering, national defense construction and other projects.
Plays a very important role in saving manpower, reducing manual labor, ensuring project quality, shortening construction period, reducing project cost and improving labor productivity.
There are two main types of excavating machinery: intermittent working (single bucket) excavators and continuous working (multi-bucket) excavators. There are two types of single-bucket excavators for intermittent operation: single-bucket excavators with mechanical transmission (hereinafter referred to as mechanical excavators) and single-bucket excavators with hydraulic transmission (hereinafter referred to as hydraulic excavators). Continuous working excavators include bucket wheel excavators, horizontal or vertical chain bucket excavators, wheel bucket trenchers, roll-cut excavators and tunnel combined tunneling machines. The most widely used in engineering construction is the intermittent single-bucket excavator, which accounts for more than 90% of the total excavation machinery. At present, the most widely used single-bucket excavator is the hydraulic excavator, which accounts for more than 98% of the average output of the single-bucket excavator.
