(1) Selection of diesel
Different grades of diesel should be selected according to different ambient temperatures, as shown in Table 1-2.
(2) Selection of other oils
Select the appropriate oil according to the ambient temperature and application. When the ambient temperature is high, oil with high viscosity should be selected;
When the ambient temperature is low, oil with low viscosity should be used. The viscosity of the gear oil is relatively large to adapt to the larger transmission load. The viscosity of the hydraulic oil is relatively small to reduce the flow resistance of the liquid. (AP abbreviation for American Petroleum Institute) Four grades of oil quality specifications are formulated for different engine requirements, as shown in Table 1-3. SAE (abbreviation of American Association of Automobile Engineers) viscosity classification is shown in Table 1-4. The recommended oils for KOMATSU excavators are shown in Table 1-5. The recommended oil for Kobelco (KOBELC0) excavators is shown in Table 1-6.
(3) The point of choosing oil:
① When the sulfur content of diesel is less than 0.5%, the oil in the oil pan should be replaced according to the standard cycle; when the sulfur content of diesel is between 0.5%-1.0%, the oil should be replaced within 1/2 standard cycle ; When the sulfur content of diesel oil is greater than 1.0%, the oil should be replaced within 1/4 standard cycle
②Start the engine when the ambient temperature is lower than 0℃, and make sure to use the engine oil of model SAE0W, SAE10W-30 and sAE5W-40. The same should be true when the atmospheric temperature during the day reaches around 10°C.
③If APCC grade oil is used as engine oil, the engine oil replacement period should be halved.
④ Mixing single-grade oil and multi-grade oil, in principle, there is no problem, but should ensure that the added single-grade oil and the temperature in the recommended table are consistent.
(4) Selection of antifreeze:
Use permanent antifreeze as much as possible. If a cold factor cannot be used, use antifreeze containing ethylene glycol. When determining the mixing ratio, it is best to underestimate the temperature by about 10 °C.
For Kobelco excavator, the mixing ratio of water and antifreeze is recommended to be: when the use temperature is -6~40℃, the mixing ratio is 30%. When the use temperature is -30-30℃, the mixing ratio is 50% (antifreeze is recommended by Kobelco).
