How To Prevent The Stolen Diesel From The Loader?

May 11, 2020

Regarding the loader to avoid theft of diesel, I believe that many excavator operators have the experience, and I believe that many colleagues have experienced the same experience. Most of the loader can only be parked on the outdoor construction site. How can the diesel be stolen?

1. Avoid thieves draining oil from subsea valves

General loader has valves at the bottom of diesel tank, some loader need to remove the bottom plate to see. This valve is designed to drain water and impurities from the bottom of the tank. Although diesel fuel can be discharged here, most professional thieves do not steal oil from here, because this valve has a small caliber and the speed of draining oil is very slow. It is estimated that the sky is bright after a box of oil is discharged. But at the same time, in case of encountering an amateur thief, the driver has to do something to prevent it, that is, he should pay attention to keeping the diesel tank subsea valve directly above the crawler when closing the work, which can reduce the space and let the thief There is nowhere to put the oil pot or drum.

2. Avoid thieves draining oil from the outlet pipe

This oil pipe comes out from the bottom of the diesel tank and is connected to the oil-water separator. As long as the thief unscrews the joint nut of the oil-water separator, diesel will flow out of the fuel pipe. Although the diameter of this oil pipe is not large, it takes more than an hour to put 200L of diesel oil, but this is much faster than the subsea valve. The oil-water separator is in the side door of the loader. If you expect to pass the lock on the side door, lock the oil-water separator to avoid theft of diesel. Then you are wrong, because the key of each loader brand is universal, and can be bought in every loader accessory store.

The correct anti-theft method should be that the two loaders are parked next to each other, and the fuel tanks are on the inner side. It is necessary to be close to each other, without leaving any remaining gaps, even if no one can enter, let alone open the side door. However, this is a technical job and does not advocate apprenticeship.

3. Avoid thieves pumping oil from the gas filler

Most of the loader diesel was stolen, and it was pumped out through this fuel port. As long as an ordinary fuel pipe is prepared, the diesel tank can be pumped clean, and the speed is as fast as the fueling speed. If the thief also brought his own oil pump, it would be faster. The precautionary measure is to weld an iron cylinder with a hole in the fuel port so that the oil pipe cannot penetrate the fuel tank. This method has also become more and more widespread. Very many loaders have been welded and have not been stolen.

In addition, if conditions permit, you should usually park around the house where people live when you park the loader; or arrange for people to sleep on the loader at night. You should also pay attention when refueling. Keep the oil tank without oil when finishing work!
