Because the walking device has both the support and operation of the hydraulic excavator, the walking device of the hydraulic excavator should try to meet the following requirements:
(1) There should be a large driving force, so that the excavator has good passing performance, climbing performance and steering performance when walking on wet or unequal ground.
(2) Make the excavator have a larger ground clearance without increasing the height of the walking device to improve its off-road performance on uneven ground.
(3) The walking device has a larger support area or a smaller ground pressure to improve the stability of the excavator
4) When the excavator is descending on the slope, no sliding and overspeed slipping will occur, so as to improve the safety of the excavator
5) The external dimensions of the walking device should meet the requirements of road transportation. The walking device of the hydraulic excavator can be divided into two categories: crawler type and tire type. The characteristic of crawler walking device is that the driving force is large (usually each crawler The driving force of the machine can reach 35%~45% of the machine weight), the connection pressure is small (40~150kPa), so the off-road performance and stability are good, and the climbing ability is large (generally 50%~80%, the maximum can reach 100%), and the turning radius is small, and the flexibility is good. Crawler walking devices are commonly used in hydraulic excavations. Crawler walking devices have high manufacturing costs, low operating speed, high power consumption during operation and steering, and fast wear of parts. Therefore, other transport vehicles are required for long-distance operation of excavators.
Compared with the crawler type, the tire-type walking device has the advantages of fast running speed, good maneuverability, and the tire does not damage the road surface during operation, so it is very popular in urban construction. The disadvantage is that the ground pressure is large and the climbing ability is small. Special outriggers are required to support the excavator to ensure the stability and safety of the excavator.
