1. The upper part of the machine monitor (display part)
As shown in Figure 2-89, the upper part of the machine monitor is a multi-function display area.
When the Kobelco excavator engine is started, the battery voltage will suddenly drop according to the ambient temperature and the condition of the battery. At this time, the machine monitor goes out for a while. However, this phenomenon is not a malfunction.
2. The upper part of the machine monitor (switch part)
There are 6 function switches on the upper part of the monitor, these 6 function switches are F1~F6. The function of each function switch is displayed by graphic marks in the multi-function display above the function switch. If the graphic mark of the function switch is not displayed, the function switch is not working.
3. The lower part of the machine monitor (switch part)
There are 15 switches in the lower part of the monitor. There are 10 switches with numbers and 5 switches without numbers. The 10 switches with numbers are:
1—Digital 1 input switch/automatic reducer switch;
2 — Digital 2 input switch/work mode selection switch;

9—Number 9 input switch/air conditioner or heater switch;
0——Digital 0 input switch/air conditioner or heater switch;
Switches without numbers are air conditioner or heater switches.
Each switch has the function of displaying with graphic marks and the function of inputting numbers. According to the display situation of the multi-function display, the machine monitor automatically judges which function of each switch is currently working. The difference between the air conditioner specifications, the heater specifications and the non-heater specifications is only the function of the switch in this section.
4. General and special functions of the machine monitor
The machine monitor has common and special functions, and displays various information on the multi-function display. Related items are automatically displayed according to the internal settings of the machine monitor, and other items are displayed according to the operation of the switch.
(1) Common functions (operator mode)
The items in this mode are displayed normally, and the operator can display and set them by operating the switch (the display and setting of some items require special operation of the switch).
(2) Special functions (service mode)
The items in this mode are usually not displayed, and maintenance personnel can display them normally by operating the switch. This mode is used for special setting, testing, adjustment or fault diagnosis.
